Building Surveyor (Team Leader)\n\nIpswich, Suffolk | Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid (2-3 days remote working)\nSalary: £49,000\n\nWe are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing property services and surveying organisation for an experienced Building Surveyor to lead a team delivering surveying and property inspection services across residential portfolios.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable and driven surveying professional to take ownership of operational delivery, team performance, and client relationships within a fast-paced environment.\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n * Hybrid working (2-3 days remote/working from home)\n\n * 37 hours per week\n\n * Minimum of 26 days annual leave + bank holidays\n\n * High employer pension contribution\n\n * Free gym and swimming membership\n\n * Free local public transport\n\nThe Role:\n\nYou will oversee the delivery of surveying services across a range of residential and property maintenance projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved.\n\nYou will lead and support a team of surveyors while acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Managing and supporting a team of building surveyors and technical staff\n\n * Overseeing property inspections, defect diagnosis, and reporting\n\n * Ensuring works are delivered in line with budgets, KPIs, and service standards\n\n * Managing responsive repairs, planned maintenance, voids, and refurbishment programmes\n\n * Reviewing specifications, schedules of work, and contractor performance\n\n * Ensuring compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations\n\n * Producing technical reports, performance data, and operational updates\n\n * Building strong relationships with clients, residents, and contractors\n\n * Supporting continuous improvement and service development initiatives\n\nAbout You:\n\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:\n\n * Proven experience in a Building Surveying or Property Maintenance\n\n * Strong technical knowledge of residential property maintenance and construction\n\n * Experience managing teams, contractors, and operational delivery\n\n * Ability to diagnose building defects and specify remedial works\n\n * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills\n\n * Strong organisational and commercial awareness\n\n * Good IT skills and experience using property or asset management systems\n\n * A proactive and solutions-focused approach\n\nQualifications & Requirements:\n\nEssential\n\n * HNC/HND or degree in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline\n\n * Full UK driving licence
